Welcome to the Little Bears home page!

Little Bears is San Francisco’s best music program for infants and toddlers. Come rock out with us at one of our campuses, or in a park near you! Everyone gets a free trial so you can make sure it’s a good fit.

We’ve been hosting in-person music classes for kids ages 6 mos. – 5 yrs. since 2007, and have been holding classes outdoors in parks in San Francisco since July 2020.

Our infant and toddler music classes focus on socialization, music appreciation, a deep embodiment of rhythm and melody, and – most importantly! – music as a joyful expression of self. Our teachers are professional musicians with a focus on teaching younger age groups. Some of them have been teaching Little Bears classes for over a decade. They are the best in town!

New Classes – Winter 2024-2025

– Bear Sprouts – a music and gardening class for 2.5-5 year olds at Mission Bay. Likely on Monday mornings. SIGN UP FOR THIS CLASS IT’S SO COOL!! (Location F).

– 10am and 11am Saturday at Sutro Elementary School with Ailbhe (Location C).

– 9:15am Wednesday at Little Marina Green with Michael (Location A).

Tuition and Policies

Little Bears classes happen on an ongoing basis throughout the entire calendar year (as opposed to a quarterly model with breaks between sessions). To join our classes, you first have a free trial to see if it’s a good fit, and then you buy a pack of classes. Class packs must be used in consecutive weeks. Class meets at its specified location (indoor or outdoors) for 45 minutes. For outdoor classes, bring your favorite blanket so your little one can have a visual reminder of your space. We provide instruments for all classes.

Our cancellation policy is that the following are excused absences:

– Illness (please communicate absences beforehand if possible)
– Travel (please communicate absences beforehand)
– If there is a cancellation on our end (teacher illness/travel, rain, etc)
– Our cancellation policy is changing for all packs bought after 12/31/2024. The new policy is one excused absence in a 5-pack and two excused absences in a 10-pack, no questions asked.

Class pricing is as follows:

– 10+ classes is $29/class meeting
– 5-9 classes is $33/class meeting.
– 1-4 classes is $37/class meeting.
– If tuition is a burden for you, we have a sliding scale. Scroll down just a little bit on that page for the Little Bears sliding scale.
– If you enroll 2x weekly or with two children, you get a 30% discount.
– Drop-ins are allowed ($37 each) if the class is not full with weekly enrollments. We have a program for autopay for single drop-ins if you prefer.
