Fort Mason Center for Arts and Culture – In addition to Blue Bear, there are more than 40 nonprofit organizations at Fort Mason involved with the visual and performing arts, humanities, education, ecology and recreation.

Community Resources – Amateur Music Network offers workshops and community listings. – West Coast Songwriters is very active in the Bay Area nourishing, educating and promoting songwriters. – An excellent grassroots music lobbying organization. – California Lawyers for the Arts provides lawyer referrals, dispute resolution services, educational programs and publications to artists of all disciplines and arts organizations.

Educational Resources – Making Music is a magazine for adult amateur musicians who play music to meet friends, stay healthy, and have fun – articles to inform and inspire the recreational musician, including product reviews, musician spotlights, and news about the latest research into the link between making music and lifelong health. – The All Music Guide’s online Allmusiczine has in-depth interviews, reviews, and news. Check out the Music Maps and Music Styles section for some interesting history. – You can find a lot of rock history on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame website. – A good resource for early rock ‘n’ roll history. – A starting place to explore blues history.

Philanthropic Resources – Music in Schools Today is a local non-profit that designs and delivers music education programs to preschools and K-12 students in the Bay Area. They have an ongoing instrument drive and will connect your donations with a deserving home. – Music Will is the largest non-profit music program in the US public school system- it brings musical programming to schools across the country by providing professional development for teachers and ongoing support.
