Blue Bear Live VI, our sixth annual youth music benefit concert, features New Orleans’s legendary group the funky METERS – in their first Bay Area appearance in more than two years – plus special guests on Friday May 20 at Bimbo’s 365 Club. Talented Blue Bear youth bands will jump start this special evening with rocking performances.

Blue Bear Live is a wonderful party that draws support from our community – 30,000+ strong since our school was established in 1971 – and benefits our innovative outreach programs at partner sites in public schools and community centers, Summer Camps,
youth scholarships and sliding scale tuition support for low-income students.

These programs serve 1,200 San Francisco Bay Area kids, half of them from low-income families and under-served communities.

Current and past youth music education partners:

  • Glide Memorial Church After School Center
  • Ida B. Wells Continuing Education High School
  • International Studies Academy
  • James Lick Middle School
