Group Class Drop Policy – call 415.673.3600 to drop

 
To receive a partial refund or credit for a class you wish to drop, you must inform us two days prior to the second meeting of the class. If you are unable to finish a class due to changes in your schedule or life, we are often able to let you retake the same class in the future and just pay the deposit amount (15% of the class tuition unless otherwise noted) on a space-permitting basis.

Group Class and Music Community Refund Policy

If you want a refund for any group program, you must let us know at least two days before the second class or workshop meeting. We will be happy to refund or transfer your credit except for the Music Community membership fee and deposit amount (15% of the class tuition in most cases). The membership fee and deposit amounts are not refundable or transferable. After the second course meeting, there are no refunds or transfers of credit.

Please note that the Blue Bear Music Community membership fee is not refundable. The benefits that come with the membership fee are good for one year from the date of purchase.

Short Seminar Drop Policy – call 415.673.3600 to drop

 
To receive a refund or credit for a Short Seminar, you must inform us one business day prior to the meeting of the class. Refunds will be minus a 5% processing fee.

Privacy Policy

Information collected on this website will not be shared, sold or rented with any other organization. We will respect your requests regarding use of your information. When you submit an online application we will add you to our postal and email mailing list, from which you can be removed at your request.
 

Private Lesson Policies

Lesson Cancellation Policy

There is no charge for a lesson canceled with at least two days’ notice before the close of business (Mon-Thu 8 pm, Sat 3:30 pm). Tuesday and Sunday lessons can notify anytime, two days before. You may cancel:

  • By email (cancel@bluebearmusic.org)
  • By phone (415.673.3600)
  • In person with our desk staff (not with your teacher)
  • Through your MindBody app/Blue Bear web portal (a stricter 54-hour cancellation policy applies)
  • Lessons are ongoing until you tell us you’re stopping

    Unless you have specifically scheduled your lessons as one-time lessons, you will remain on your teacher’s schedule until you tell us you want to discontinue, even though your lesson pack may have run out. In order to avoid being charged for a lesson after your pack runs out, we need to hear from you two days before what would be your next scheduled lesson.

    Lesson Package expirations

    Even though you are not charged for a timely-canceled lesson, lesson packs have expiration dates. 4-packs expire three months after the first lesson. 10-packs expire 75 days after the first lesson – you have 11 weeks to complete ten lessons. (Expiration dates are adjusted for every-other-week lessons, holidays and teacher cancellations.)

    Expired Lessons

    There are no refunds for expired lessons, but you may still use an expired lesson! For up to a year after expiration, you can give a lesson to a friend or use it as an extra lesson for yourself. What is an “extra lesson”? If you take weekly lessons, an extra lesson is a second lesson in a week. If you take every-other-week lessons, an extra lesson is a lesson during your off-week or a second lesson during your on-week. Nothing else is an “extra lesson.” You may use expired lessons as a gift for someone else whether or not you are scheduled for recurring lessons.

    Private Lesson Refund Policy

    If you discontinue your lessons and come off the schedule, remaining credit will be held for a year after the last lesson taken. You may request a credit refund any time during this year.
