Digital Audio Production Studio 101
Where Technology Meets the Arts!
Blue Bear's Digital Audio Production Studio 101 program teaches grade 4-12 students to write, produce
and record their own original music by leveraging computer based music
instruction in conjunction with Garage Band and Pro Tools software.
The setup consists of Apple laptops, MIDI keyboards, drum machines, studio
microphones, audio interfaces, and other music technology and instruments. The
program has been designed so it can easily be delivered to remote sites. We take
the program into the neighborhoods directly to the kids.
Our curriculum centers on composition, rhythm, melody, critical listening,
computer competency, math, and literary arts. The unique non-genre specific
approach allows students to create music they love while fostering an
appreciation for self-motivated learning, creative arts, technology, and applied core curriculum.
Every kid gains self confidence in the program and leaves with a CD of their
original music. Digital Audio Production Studio 101 served 360 at-risk youth in 2011 via partnerships with community
centers and schools.
