Devon McClive is a folk-rock cellist from Oakland CA who has been playing cello in the Bay Area music scene since 2006. She is classically trained and teaches aspiring cellists of all ages to find their voice on cello. She is passionate about making cello accessible to anyone who desires to play.
Devon performs with The Sam Chase and The Untraditional and with her own project self titled as Devon McClive. She has performed all over the area in venues and festivals such as Outside Lands, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, Kate Wolf Music Festival, Juan de Fuca Festival of the Arts and many more.
She loves teaching cello and piano lessons and believes that music students should be playing music that they love. Her students play music ranging is genres such as Celtic, Pop, Jazz, Rock, Experimental, Old Time, and Classical. She is also the founder of Cello Rock Camp; a camp designed to teach young cellists how to rock out on cello..
